Attendance

Regular attendance keeps students engaged and learning, making them more likely to have success in school and graduate. It is important that students be in school and on time when school is in session. First period classes start at 7:45 a.m.

Absent or arriving late

Parents/guardians must notify the Attendance Office if their child is going to be late or absent from school. Parents/guardians can send a ParentSquare message to High School Attendance, email jdhsattendance@jd.cnyric.org, or call 315-445-8340.

If students arrive late, they must sign in with their Student ID at the Attendance Office located at the front entrance.

A student who arrives at school after 11:00 a.m. without prior approval will not be allowed to participate in extracurricular or athletic activities for that day.

Leaving school early

Parents/guardians must notify the Attendance Office if their child needs to be excused during the school day. Parents/guardians can send a ParentSquare message to High School Attendance, email jdhsattendance@jd.cnyric.org, or call 315-445-8340. Once notification is received by the Attendance Office, students can pick up an Early Dismissal Pass and sign out from the Attendance Office with their Student ID.

Please refer to the Student Handbook for further details on attendance policies.
