Jamesville-DeWitt High School Principal Gregory Lawson invited students, staff, and family to witness his United States Navy reenlistment ceremony on Thursday, Nov. 7 in the school auditorium.
J-DHS students Brian Tollar and Venessa Sobey were asked to emcee the event. They were given the honor to introduce Captain Matt Richmond who is also Senior Chief Petty Officer Gregory Lawson’s Commanding Officer.
Principal Lawson will serve in a reserve capacity with the U.S. Surface Fleet Atlantic Headquarters Unit in Norfolk, Virginia.
“Serving in the United States Navy is one of the greatest honors of my life. Having the opportunity to share my continued service with members of the J-DHS community, and my family was the motivation behind having the ceremony here. My family and staff all make my service possible and this was my way to recognize that.”
