The Jamesville-DeWitt Central School District Board of Education needs your help as they continue the process to find a new Superintendent of Schools. The board is asking students, staff, families, and the community to complete an online survey that will help develop a profile of desirable attributes wanted in the district’s next leader. The survey will be available until Wednesday, Feb. 5. The board will use a summary of the responses to help evaluate candidates.
The board is working with OCM BOCES District Superintendent, Matthew L. Cook, Ed. D. to conduct a confidential search. A confidential search typically leads to a larger candidate pool and increases the likelihood that the most qualified candidates will apply for the position.
The Superintendent of Schools application deadline is Friday, Jan. 31. The board is expected to begin first round interviews in Feb. and are anticipated to make an appointment in April or May. The new hire would officially begin leadership duties for the 2025-26 school year in July.
Superintendent Peter Smith announced his retirement plans in Oct. and will serve the district through the remainder of the 2024-25 school year.
A dedicated Superintendent search webpage is available on the district website. It includes news updates, important links, and a question and answer section.
