We’re excited to share that J-D High School senior Sammy Tadevossian has been selected as a nominee for USA Football’s Heart of a Giant Award and you can help him win! The award is presented by the New York Giants and the Hospital for Special Surgery.
The prestigious award recognizes Tri-State area high school student-athletes, team mascots, team managers, and other designated team members who have an unparalleled work ethic and passion for the game. Team members with a Heart of a Giant also demonstrate five main characteristics on and off the field: commitment, character, teamwork, dedication and will.
“We are so honored that Sammy is being recognized with the nomination of this award. Sammy has been a constant in the J-D Football program for the last four years. The heart Sammy displays every day is invigorating, motivating, and comforting. Our team looks to Sammy, and looks to model the determination he shows daily. When I think of what the ‘Heart of a Giant’ award represents, I think of Sammy,” said Varsity Football Coach John Barlow.
As an official nominee, Sammy is now in the race to be one of six finalists who will receive a $1,000 equipment grant for their high school football program. The grand prize winner will receive an additional $9,000 equipment grant.
