Jamesville-DeWitt Central School District administrators and the Board of Education are working together to prepare for the next step of the ongoing strategic plan development process. The group met with Blueprint for Excellence on Tuesday, Oct. 8 to think more deeply about the district’s mission, vision, and core values and to review preliminary data collected during the district’s recent strategic plan ThoughtExchange. 309 people participated in the survey.
These were some of the main priority areas identified in the ThoughtExchange:
-
- Academic excellence
- Student and family experience
- Operations with a focus on safety, security, and communication
The ThoughtExchange data will be reviewed in more detail by a group of 30-40 stakeholders including students, staff, community members, administrators, and the board. The goal is to ensure all voices have the opportunity to be heard.
The community discussion session will take place on Thursday, Oct. 24 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Conversations at the meeting will help craft the district’s new strategic plan.
The district is still looking for more parent and community voices. If interested, please contact Superintendent Peter Smith at psmith@jd.cnyric.org, or call his office, 315-445-8304 by Tuesday, Oct. 15. Please share the school or community group you represent, why you are interested, and relevant experience or education.
