Get ready to mark your calendars: The Jamesville-DeWitt Central School District 2022-23 school-year calendar is now available.
At its March 21 meeting, the J-D Board of Education approved the calendar, which sets school holidays, vacation weeks and days off for students due to staff development days. Once school and district events and activities are scheduled for the new school year, that information will be added to the district’s website calendar, which is the most up-to-date resource for families and community members.
Religious and ethnic observances
The Jamesville-DeWitt Central School District serves children from many different religious and ethnic backgrounds, and a goal of the district’s strategic plan is to provide a safe, caring, inclusive, equitable and challenging learning environment that is free from discrimination and harassment and to building a community that recognizes diversity as one of its four greatest strengths.
Because no Jamesville-DeWitt student should ever have to choose between important religious observances and academic or athletic commitments, the district provides for students who wish to participate in any religious observances that conflict with other obligations to make arrangements with their teachers and coaches to do so and shall be provided an opportunity to make up such requirements that may have been missed.
