J-D students earn Seal of Biliteracy

We’re proud to share that multiple Jamesville-DeWitt High School students have met the requirements to earn the New York state Seal of Biliteracy (NYSSB)!

The NYSSB recognizes high school students who have attained a high level of proficiency in listening, speaking, reading and writing in one or more languages in addition to English. Students must demonstrate the required level of proficiency for the seal by completing and presenting a culminating project, scholarly essay or portfolio.

“Their dedication to the study of language and culture is truly remarkable. By mastering another language, they’ve built a bridge that unites communities and opened doors to new opportunities in our multilingual world. Their achievement not only demonstrates their own commitment to growth, but also paves the way for stronger cultural understanding and collaboration in our interconnected world,” shared World Language Department Chair and NYS Seal of Biliteracy Coordinator Xiomara Santos.
