Moses DeWitt Elementary Teacher and J-D alum Elizabeth De La Roca recently published her first children’s book. “Sal the Snowball” was released earlier this month.
“I think it’s so cool being a J-D alum and now a teacher here and thinking back to all the teachers I had – (some still here!) – that led me to where I am today, full circle moment,” shared Elizabeth.
The book follows Sal on an adventurous day in which he seeks support and help from his friends as he undergoes a challenge within himself. As things begin to change for Sal, he is reminded of the importance of patience, friendship, and the beauty of loving yourself for who you are.
Elizabeth took some time to share the book with her students. She hopes the story will help inspire a passion for reading.
“I’ve always loved to read because I believe that books have the power to take your imagination anywhere and make an impact on people in the most meaningful ways. This is what I hope to instill in the children that read this book,” said Elizabeth.
“Sal the Snowball” was illustrated by TullipStudio and published by Bowker Publishing Services.
Congratulations on this exciting achievement Elizabeth!
