Jamesville-DeWitt Central School District residents approved the $69.4 million budget for the 2023-24 school year on May 16. A total of 795 votes were cast, with the final tally being 537 yes votes and 258 no votes.
A bus proposition for $663,532 also passed with 548 yes votes and 244 no votes. The proposition to establish a Capital Reserve Fund of $4 million was also passed with 571 yes votes and 225 no votes. Additionally, the proposition for funding the Community Library of DeWitt & Jamesville for $1,575,857 passed with 549 yes votes and 246 no votes.
Voters elected the following three candidates to the Jamesville-DeWitt Central School District Board of Education for three-year terms beginning July 1, 2023.

The 2023-2024 tax levy increase of 2.96% is within the allowable tax levy limit as calculated under the state’s “tax cap” guidelines. Therefore, a simple majority was required for authorization.
