OCM BOCES inducted 189 students into the National Technical Honor Society or NTHS Tuesday. Six J-D High School students were among those honored at the ceremony held at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel in East Syracuse.
During the ceremony, students lit candles to represent the seven attributes of being an NTHS member. They also received special tassels to wear on their graduation hats in their home districts.
The honor represents hard work, character and academic success in a variety of OCM BOCES programs that teach specialized, hands-on skills to prepare students for college or careers. To qualify, students must have an 85 grade-point average or higher, 12 or fewer absences, and a teacher recommendation.
