2024-25 safety plan proposal available for public review; July 29 public hearing planned

Having a comprehensive plan in place to handle a wide range of possible emergencies is a critical component of school management and student safety. That’s why the Jamesville-DeWitt Central School District and board of education routinely evaluates and updates the district safety plan. They are asking for your input during the process.

The board of education will present the proposed 2024-25 District Safety Plan and hold a public hearing at its July 29 board meeting. You can send your feedback to Superintendent Peter Smith at psmith@jd.cnyric.org through August 18.

The board anticipates voting to adopt the plan August 19.

The district maintains a public School District Safety Plan and confidential building-level School Safety Plans, in accordance with New York state’s Safe Schools Against Violence in Education (S.A.V.E.) Law. The public district-level plan is always available for review on the district website and upon request in each school building.
